1. why do you want to study mpa?
there are several reasons. firstly, i’m a civil servant, i need to study mpa to make things done smarter and more efficiently. secondly,after three years of work, i want to learn something new in a good environment with top education resources. thirdly, i’m still young and a single lady, i have enough time and energy to pursue my further study.
2. what is mpa?
master of public administration is mainly specialized in the management of government, public sector and non-profit organizations, aiming at cultivating efficient leaders with public spirit.
3. why do you choose the graduate school of academy of social science?
there are several reasons. firstly,i know this graduate school has great intellectual achievements in philosophy and social sciences. secondly,i heard that this school has a rather well-stocked library and a rigorous style of study. last but not least, i really want to learn something new.
4. why do you think you are qualified for mpa program?
there are several reasons.
firstly, i’m a civil servant and i really want to more good things for the public.secondly,i’m open-minded, quick in thought, i think i can learn new things more efficiently. thirdly, i’m eager to learn it and i believe i have manage potential.
5. do you have a study plan if you were accepted as a mpa student?(what is your research plan? )
of course. firstly, i must lay the foundation on politics, economics and management.
secondly, i’ll start to read some english literature and try to communicate with others in english.
thirdly, i’ll try to put these theories into practice to solve the public problems.
6. what’s your impression of beijing?
beijing is the center of policy, culture and international communication. as a city with a history of 3000 years, beijing has numerous sites of interest and a brilliant rich culture. in my opinion, it is an open, inclusive and vigorous city with abundant education recourses.
7. what do you do in your spare time?
in my spare time, i often go to the gym to practice yoga, read some novels i like, listen to music, and learn to cook.
8. what countries have you ever been? introduce them.
last year, i have traveled to japan. i was impressed by the fact that the streets of japan were very clean and the trash sorting did well. the japanese are friendly, dedicated and courteous. in the town of nara, you can see people and deer live in harmony.
9. can you tell me something about your hometown?
yes, certainly. ** is in the northeast part of **province. it is provincial deputy city center with well-developed transportation and a fairly good ecological environment. in addition, it has many tourist resorts such as **, the most beautiful villages of china and ** mountain, which is included in the unesco\s world heritage list. if there is a chance, you can come to my hometown and i’ll show you how beautiful my hometown is.

sure. there are four members in my family, my father, my mother and my little lovely brother who was just eight years old. my parents both work for the government. they are kind-hearted, hard-working and popular in their circles of friends. my brother is very cute and i enjoy having fun with him very much.
10. who influenced you the most among your family member?(who is your role model in life? why? )
well, it must be my father i think. he always push me forward in his way. he is a good person, working hard, driving for perfection, treating people sincerely. he has strong sense of responsibility to take good care of our family members, including his sisters’ and brothers’ family. although he is short-tempered and sometimes difficult to communicate, i understand it and still admire him, even want to marry a man like him.
11. what are some of your biggest hobbies?
firstly, i am deeply involved in yoga. i began to learn it in 2011. and now, i’m still doing it about fifth a week. even though it makes little in losing weight, you can release your negative emotions and energy, and keep yourself in good health.
and then, i love traveling. i like experiencing different cultures, scenery, food and new things. travel makes me feel free and passionate, and helps me to be more independent and open-minded.
12. what does friendship mean to you?what kind of people do you make friends with?
from my perspective, friendship means share both joys and sorrows. we care for each other, love and help each other no matter what happen. i chose to make friends with those who sincerely want to make friends with me too.
13. what kind of personality do your think you have?
i am optimistic, easygoing and open-minded. and i am very active and energetic. i approach things enthusiastically and i don\t like leaving them half done.
14. what are your strengths?
i have firm determination and tenacity to achieve goals.
15. what are your weaknesses?
i’m really ashamed to say that i don’t have much life experience and know little about politics.
16. your motto?
my motto is that there must be a better way to start the day and you can never stop finding it.
17. what is your life goal? do you think you will succeed in achieving your goal?
do something good for myself, my family and even the public.
yes, i do think so. cause as long as i keep learning and working, i’ll definitely achieve it.
18. what difficulties do you think you’ll encounter in your studies?
first, it may be english literature reading and english communication. and then, understanding and analyzing national policies better may be a difficult too.
19. your favorite book
my favorite book is named where the river ends. the heroin of the book was suffering from a terminal cancer and wanted to finish her wishes at the end of her life. the book mainly describes that the hero accompanied with her to travel along the river, fighting for the disease and never giving up.
20. what social responsibilities should a post-graduate take?
as a post-graduate, one must put theory into practice to serve the public more efficiently and impartially.
21. which kind of professors do you like the best?
i like the one who are willing to teach me.
22. could you sum up your own study habits in a few points?
firstly, advance preview.
secondly, prepare a notebook note.
thirdly,review and mark the place that i have doubts.
finally, exchange ideas with classmates or teachers, record the information.
23. what are the most serious problems associated with modern world?
well, environmental pollution, resource shortage, social peace, social crimes, social equity and many other social problems should be the most serious problems associated with modern world.
24. what are the most serious problems associated with modern life?
there are many serious problems in modern life, such as employment difficulties, housing

tension, the gap between rich and poor, aging of population and so on.
25. what do you regard as the most significant events in recent history?
for my view, the most significant event in recent history is reform and opening-up that was started in december 1978. because since then, people’s lives is getting better and better and social development has made considerable progress.
26. what is your definition of success?
i think the success is good health, family harmony and achievement at work. more deeply, it can be the realization of self-worth.
27.describe a setback, disappointment occasion of failure that you have experienced. how did you manage the situation and what did you learn from it?
in 2013, i have failed in the postgraduate examination. i passed the preliminary examination, but i had bad performance in the interview. i realized that the main reason that i failed was i haven’t prepared enough. then, the only thing i can do is accepting the result, reflecting the reason and thinking what to do next step. since then, i do anything will not be taken lightly, will be fully prepared.
