我今天分享的这篇文章，是2021年考研英语二的汉译英。

我分享它有两个目的，其一是分享文章的思想，其二是给想找这个试题的读者一个参考来源。

创作上的失败并不可怕。它的好处是可以让你学会处理失望情绪、适应不断改变的状况、并最终锻炼出创造性地解决问题的能力。而此时此刻，你已跳出内在和周边的固有思维模式，达到一个高层次的灵活自由的自我。

画家如此，我想作家亦如此。或者你想成为成为什么，共同的道理应该都在这里面。

虽然我们尽了最大的努力，但有时我们的画作最终很少能够像最初计划的那样呈现出来。光线的变化，调色板颜色的有限，或者只是普通的经验和技术的欠缺，都意味着，你开始尝试着要达成的事情，有时并不能以你期望的方式实现。

尽管这可能是令人沮丧和失望的，但事实证明，这实际上对你是有好处的！意想不到的结果有两个好处：首先，你能够很快学会如何处理失望情绪，并最终（通常是通过不断

地犯错）意识到：当一扇门关闭，另一扇门就会打开。你也很快就能学会适应，并想出创造性的方案来解决画作中呈现的问题，这正意味着，跳出固有思维已成为作画家的第二天性！

创造性的问题解决技能在日常生活中非常有用，并意味着当问题出现时，你更有可能快速地想出解决方案。

although we try our best, sometimes our paintings rarely turn out as originally planned! changes in the light, the limitations of your palette, and just plain old lack of experience and technique mean that what you start out trying to achieve sometimes doesn’t come to life the way that you expected（“你预期的方式”，简单直接清楚）.

although this can be frustrating and disappointing, it turns out（“事实证明”） that this can actually be good for you! unexpected results have two benefits: for starters, you pretty quickly learn to deal with disappointment, and in time（“最终”，不是翻译为“及时”） (often through repeated error) to realize that when（最简洁的翻译为“当…（时）”，不要自加“如果一扇门打开……”） one door closes, another opens. you quickly learn to adapt and come up with creative solutions to the problems the painting presents, and this means that thinking outside the box becomes（“成为了”要比“已经成为”要好）second nature to the painter!

creative problem solving skills（“技能”比“技巧”更合适） are incredibly useful in daily life, and mean you’re more likely to be able to quickly come up with a solution when a problem（不要翻译为“一个问题”、“一个解决方案”） arises.
