两种英语的命题思路和手法有所不同，雅思在内的欧美国家的语言测试，都是以语言能力作为考核重点，如果语言能力能过关，做题方面基本没问题。而考研英语除去考察语言基本能力外，还有对语言之外深层次含义的理解。

来源

两者的来源一般都是国外的学术性报刊或者杂志。如：商业周刊（businessweek）、经济学家（The Economist）、华尔街日报（The Wall Street Journal）等。

题型

考研阅读理解的题型单一，都是四选一的单项选择题，而其中，会涉及到考察细节的选择题，推测词意的词意题，考察文章主旨的大意题。

而雅思阅读的考察题型就比较多元化，分为填空题、判断题、配对题、选择题。

侧重点

由于雅思阅读篇幅的特点，我们会发现，雅思阅读更加偏重考生的阅读技能，即：定位和对于考点同意替换词的考察。

考研阅读的定位虽然简单，但是它更多侧重于对于上下文内容的理解和串联，仅仅想通过选项关键词来推导答案，难度系数大很多。
