标题需求猜测bummer的意义，根据最终一句“综上所述，他们就不需要他们的艺术也变成一个bummer”，也变成bummer意味着前文必定呈现过bummer。所以早年文内容indanger，fewprotections and died young，surroundedby reminders of misery，可以看出英年早逝，充溢了苦楚都是暗指日子困尴尬忧。所以接近选项[b]unpleasant不开心。这就是根据同义联络猜词，所猜单词的词义与前文的首要意思一指。

(三)根据句间联络猜测词义

经过句间联络来了解上下文的相关，也是猜词的一个重要途径。例如标明因果联络的常见相关词有：because，as，since，for，so，thus，asaresult，ofcourse，therefore。例句：youshouldn’t have blamed him for that，for it wasn’t his fault.经过for引出的语句所标明的缘由(那不是他的错)，可猜出blame的词义是“责怪”。

(四)根据界说或说明猜测词义

emoved much human labor.这个东西的可以 我们干许多的活，而且后边有具体的举例说到了robot assembly arms机器人拼装臂，automated teller terminals主动出纳终端，robot-drivers机器人驾御员。所以可见这个 我们干活的东西就是机器设备，选项[c] devices既是正确答案。

(五)根据词义联络猜测

如何能看出一个不知道词义与已知词义的联络呢？当然是经过并排相关词and, or, but,however等，如happyand gay，咱们不知道gay这个词，也可以晓得它是开心的意思，因为和它并排的词是高兴。再例如man hasknown something about the planets venus，mars，and jupiter with the help of spaceships.此句中的venus(金星)、mars(火星)、jupiter(木星)均为生词，但只需晓得planets就可猜出这几个词都归于“行星”这一义域。

再看一个标明并排联络的示例：but sometimes，norain falls for a long，long time.then there is a dryperiod，or drought.根据并排联络a dryperiod干旱时期，以及前文的no rain咱们得知好久不下雨，由此可见drought意思为“亢旱”，“旱灾”。
